About us

Sophie Walker started her career in PR/Event Management and then went on to work for an international investment bank, responsible for graduate recruitment across the spectrum of the industry, Europe wide. After a move to headhunting she 'retired' from the financial world in 2002 to concentrate on her love of interiors and design. Blueblack & Red gave her the creative outlet she needed to design and rebrand a household 'staple' into a luxury product.

Sourcing top quality materials and the standard of workmanship she demanded was critical in order to achieve the level of craftsmanship and attention to detail she knew was necessary to make the designs work. All products are individually hand made in India by master craftsmen, using naturally woven and hand dyed raw materials.
